Bishop Dr. Arnold Gajramsingh

Transcript of a Tribute from Bishop Dr. Arnold Gajramsingh, delivered by his son Rev. Joshua Gajramsingh at an Appreciation Service held in honour of Apostle Austin de Bourg at Trinidad Christian Center on October 30th, 2011.

My relationship with this man of God began in January 1982 in Los Angeles, California. I was introduced to him by a former friend of mine, the late Mickey Rodrigues at the Morris Cerullo World Conference. With the Apostle at the helm as the local representative of the Morris Cerullo World Evangelism School of Ministry, I became acquainted with him and discovered that we shared the same vision for ministry. I soon learned a lot from his storehouse of wisdom during our frequent telephone conversations.

Upon my return to Trinidad, I visited his Friday-night tent meetings which attracted a wide cross-section of society. The worship was inspiring and electrifying. The emphasis was on evangelism, healing, miracles, signs and wonders. I witnessed the tears of conviction of many people, their lives revolutionized by the power of the Holy Ghost.

His ministry challenged the religious minds in those days. In his unique preaching style, one is fed with wisdom of the word, sincerity, and the fervent anointing of his prayer life. Read his books and you will attest to this claim. He accepted our invitation to speak at our church on several occasions. When he ministered, one had no other option but to be converted or to leave. At that time, I was confronted with some of the serious challenges of being a young minister. Apostle de Bourg is such a selfless person that he never even accepted a love offering from us.

A charitable servant of God with a holistic vision for the development of mankind, Apostle is a man of God who is never out of ideas for spiritual growth. He made the pulpit available for men he trained and mentored in ministry for the preaching practice and they have emerged as leaders of some of the most influential churches in the land.

Thousands have been regenerated into the kingdom of God through his ministry. For more than thirty-five years, he has sacrificially laid down his life on the altar of divine service to advance the Kingdom of God.

I express my gratitude to a man of God who was there for his people and for me as a young minister when I needed the guidance of a big brother in ministry.

Thank God for another year to serve Him and may the Lord continue to use you for His honour and for His glory.
